Library Blog: Check Out Our New Teen Area

Our Teen Area at Johnston Public Library has gotten a face lift. With the direction of our Teen Advisory Board, a group of teens who meet monthly to make a difference at the library by suggesting teen-friendly services, materials, and programs, our Young Adult area of the library  has an all new look. The Teen Area now has a cool new area rug, two new gaming chairs that are perfect for homework or just chatting with friends, and two lounge desks that allow you to study in comfort. The Teen Advisory Board, and Jessica Young, our teen librarian also have plans for some fun lighting and a fresh coat of paint somewhere down the road. Stop in to the library to see our updated Teen Area, and while you’re at it, check out our great teen programming and hot new YA titles.

We are looking for teens that have great ideas, want to have fun, and would like to make a difference by suggesting ideas to make the library a better place for teens! All you need to do to sign up is fill out an application form and return it to a Youth Services Librarian.
