Mobile Mayor at the Library
Stop by Johnston Public Library to chat with Johnston's Mayor, Paula Dierenfeld.

Got a comment about the new roundabouts or a suggestion about the city’s budget? Or just interested in finding out what’s going on in your community? Then stop by Johnston Public Library to chat with Johnston’s Mayor, Paula Dierenfeld.
Every month Mayor Dierenfeld schedules some time at the Johnston Public Library to make it convenient for residents to meet with her and share their thoughts. “Similar to the forums our local legislators hold” Mayor Dierenfeld says, “Mobile Mayor events are informal; there is no agenda, no speeches, no sign-in sheet. You can come and go as you please.”
Mayor Dierenfeld doesn’t have a physical office space at City Hall so she says she needs to be creative about providing opportunities for residents to communicate with her. “Phone calls and emails are the most common ways Johnston residents contact me” she says. “Frequently I’m stopped at the grocery store or when I’m out walking by someone who provides input on a city matter. Feedback from residents on the things that impact them helps me make the best decisions for them.”
