Plastic Motor Oil & Antifreeze Containers

Plastic Motor Oil and Antifreeze Containers can now be recycle at the Metro Hazardous Waste Drop-Off

Metro Hazardous Waste Drop-Off
Now Accepts these Plastics

Full or empty, you can drop off plastic motor oil and antifreeze containers for shredding and recycling. These twist-off top plastics AREN’T recyclable in the curbside program. So, save them and bring them to the Metro Hazardous Waste Drop-Off when you need to get rid of other items that aren't your regular trash.

Where Do They Go?
Through our partnership with Greenstar, Metro Waste Authority collects, grinds and ships the compacted material to a company in Eastern Iowa where it is recycled into pallets.
