Post-Easter Dinner Recycling Tip

Recycle your cooking oil

Frying Your Meat Entrée for Easter?

If you plan to fry a turkey, ham or other scrumptious entrée this Easter weekend, plan also to recycle the used cooking oil at our Metro Hazardous Waste Drop-Off. We’ve partnered with Mid-Iowa Renewables, which recycles cooking oil from local
businesses.  Because of our relationship with this company, we are able provide this free recycling outlet to residents, as well.

Acceptance Guidelines
You can recycle canola, peanut and vegetable oil year-round. Grease is not
accepted. The oil collected is reused to support the local biodiesel industry.
