Blog: Walk during breaks at work, then walk some more

Fit walking into your day to add years to your life.

I can't stress enough the benefits of walking - especially for the many of us who have jobs that keep us sedentary. While workplaces are not required to provide you with specific breaks, many workplaces allow you a 15-minute break in the morning and afternoon. Check with your employer first, to be sure, and use that 15 minutes to walk!

If you walk 30 minutes a day, you could total walking to a mile or more each day! There are a ton of free walking programs out there right now that you could sign up for. I just started Walk for Walgreens, for example. They even provide you with a free pedometer and have a website where you can earn rewards for tracking your steps.

How do you fit walking into your day? It benefits me so I can concentrate on other things when I go home, like gardening or planning my wedding.
