Waukee Hazardous Waste Drop-Off
The City of Waukee hosts a hazardous Waste Drop-Off event for metro residents.
Get Rid of Items that Don't Belong in the Garbage
Metro Waste Authority and western suburbs partner every year to help residents get rid of unused hazardous products in a safe, smart way. Look under your sink and in your garage for items with labels reading: Flammable, Keep Away from Children, Toxic, and Corrosive. These are the types of items accepted for free.
The City of Waukee hosts the next event from 8 a.m. to Noon, May 11, at Waukee Middle School, 905 Warrior Lane.
Come prepared by reviewing a full list of accepted and not accepted items.
Note items NOT accepted include:
• Latex paint (learn how to safely dispose in garbage)
• Electronic waste (find other local options)
• Pharmaceuticals (visit www.iarx.org)
• Tires (Recycling Guide under Tires)
Future Events
If Waukee isn't convenient or this date doesn't work, future events will be held in West Des Moines, Windsor Heights and as a part of SCRUB events for Des Moines Residents only. We also offer a year-round drop-off in Bondurant.
