Wowbrary at the Library

Here at the library we are excited! We are unveiling a new, free service to offer to our patrons and we can’t wait to tell you about it. “Wowbrary” is an email notification that alerts patrons to new material the library has on order each week. The email highlights the latest bestsellers, movies, music CDs, audiobooks, children’s titles, cookbooks, mysteries, travel guides, health books, science fiction and more purchased by the library.

The new Wowbrary alerts are convenient and quickly show what’s on order for both Johnston and Urbandale libraries, all from the convenience of your own home computer or smartphone.

Wowbrary emails are also a great way to hone in on material on a specific subject of interest, such as photography, history, or mysteries, as well as material for specific age groups from young children to teens. There are even special sections highlighting comic books, graphic novels, e-books and audiobooks, large print novels, and so much more.

Library director Willona Goers says, “Wowbrary is a great new way to enjoy and use your public library. People are truly amazed when they see just how many great new titles we purchase each week, which they can reserve and borrow at no cost.”

Wowbrary alerts are free and do not require a library card. Go to www.johnstonlibrary to sign up. Simply click on the Wowbrary icon on Johnston Library’s homepage, and enter the library’s zipcode, 50131, to sign up or learn more.
