Sweet and Savory Holiday Cooking Class
Saturday, October 5 10:30am to 12:00pm
Add some sizzle to your holiday menu at this free holiday cooking class at Johnston Public Library. Chef Christina Ryan-Pfleeger from Johnston Hy-Vee will teach participants interesting ways to spice up traditional holiday dishes, from appetizers through dessert, without breaking the bank. Flu Shot Clinic
Wednesday, October 9th 5:30pm to 6:30pm
Saturday, October 12th 10:30am to 11:30am

Visiting Nurse Services will be at JPL to administer flu shots. Please bring all insurance cards. If you are paying by cash or check, the cost is $32.00 for injection and $42.00 for the mist. Walk-ins welcome. No registration necessary.

Award-winning historical fiction author, Elaine Cooper, will be at Simpson Barn for a talk followed by a question and answer session. Elaine is the author of The Road to Deer Run and The Promise of Deer Run, both award-winning books, as well as several others. She will be here to promote her latest historical fiction novel about the American Revolution, Fields of the Fatherless.
