Johnston Chamber to Hold School Board Candidate Forum

Three seats are on the September Johnston school board election ballot. A public candidate forum will be held Aug. 20.

Johnston school district voters may attend a school board candidate forum on Tuesday, Aug. 20, at Stoney Creek Inn from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Three candidates are running for three open seats

• Incumbent Marci Cordaro, 46, 6818 Jules Verne Court, Johnston

• Brad Ortmeier, 49, 6204 N.W. 97th St., Johnston

• Mark Toebben, 55, 6798 Ceres Circle, Johnston

Chris Sonner, who served on the board from 1997 to 2009 and filed to run this fall, has withdrawn from the race.

The Johnston Chamber of Commerce is helping to facilitate this opportunity for the community.
