When is the First Day of School in Johnston?
When do classes start in the Johnston school district? When are open houses and parent nights?
Summer is quickly winding down for kids -- and teachers -- in the Johnston Community School District, which will start school on Aug. 14.
With classes starting in less than a month, important dates in August are coming up.
Summit Middle School will hold a new student orientation 1-2p.m. Monday, Aug. 12 at Summit Middle School.
Summit Middle School will also have an open house and student/teacher meet and greet for sixth and seventh graders on Tuesday, Aug. 13 at Summit Middle School. The seventh grade open house is from 5:30-6:15 p.m. and the sixth grade open house is 6:30-7:15 p.m.
Johnston Middle School will hold an orientation from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13 in the Johnston Middle School auditorium.
Every elementary school will have a new family orientation from 2-2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14 and following, a meet the teacher session from 2:30-3:30 p.m.
Johnston High School will have a back-to-school night beginning at 5:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Wednesday Aug. 14, at the school.
Elementary parent nights will be the following week. For grades kindergarten, second and fourth, a parent night will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27. First, third and fifth grade parent night will be held at p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29.
