• Keokuk man accused of shooting vehicle after confrontation (khqa.com) — Keokuk police are investigating a Thursday night shooting in which a local man allegedly fired a handgun at a vehicle on Grand Avenue, striking the back of the car but injuring no one. Officers later arrested the suspect, seized two handguns, and are asking Keokuk residents with any information to contact local law enforcement or Crime Stoppers.
   

• Prep football: Mount Pleasant stays perfect with Homecoming rout (mississippivalleypublishing.com) — Mount Pleasant’s undefeated football team just rolled Fort Madison 45-10 and now turns its attention to an upcoming matchup with Keokuk before closing the season against Solon and Fairfield. The Panthers’ passing game exploded behind quarterback Grayson Walker, who threw five touchdowns as Mount Pleasant strengthened its position in Class 3A District 4.
