• Knoxville Fire Department earns Gold Helmet Designation for firefighter safety (kcci.com) — Knoxville’s Fire Department has earned national Gold Helmet status for enrolling firefighters in a cancer-risk registry and redesigning its new public safety building to cut exposure to harmful contaminants. More than half the department joined the registry, making Knoxville one of just seven Iowa departments to receive this safety-focused recognition.
