Le Mars Area Chamber of Commerce announces new Marketing and Events Coordinator (klem1410.com) — A familiar face at the Le Mars Area Chamber of Commerce is stepping into a bigger role, as Maggie Rechtenbaugh has been promoted to full-time Marketing and Events Coordinator. She’ll now lead the Chamber’s marketing, communications, and event planning, with a focus on promoting local businesses, member stories, and community gatherings that bring Le Mars residents together.
   

2. Nebraska man accused of attempted murder in Iowa enters plea (ktiv.com) — Le Mars police and Floyd Valley Healthcare staff responded in April to a serious alleged assault that left a man injured and led to attempted murder and other charges against a Nebraska resident. The suspect has now entered a not-guilty plea, waived a speedy trial, and remains held in Plymouth County Jail on significant bond while the case proceeds.
   

3. Anderson turns back challenge for supervisor seat (nwestiowa.com) — Plymouth County voters have re-elected longtime Supervisor Craig Anderson in the Republican primary, while Le Mars’ own Supervisor John Meis and other county officials advanced unopposed. With no Democrats filing, these results strongly shape county leadership that oversees roads, budgets, and services affecting Le Mars residents for the next four years.
   

4. KXEL Morning News for Tue. Jun. 02, 2026 (kxel.com) — Le Mars Fire Rescue crews battled a late-night barn fire south of town on May 31, ultimately saving nearby buildings but losing the chicken barn and its flock, with damage estimated at $100,000. Investigators say an electrical issue with a heat lamp sparked the blaze. The same statewide roundup also reports on a Waterloo shooting, a Shelby County crash, and a Coralville drug case.
