• Tune into the Past with Ottumwa Radio: Unsolved 1885 Murder of Iowa Carpenter (ottumwaradio.com) — A long-forgotten 1885 murder mystery centers on William Martin, an Irish-born carpenter who lived and worked in Miles, building homes and a Main Street shop before his fatal trip to Clinton. His body was later found in the Mississippi River, and despite an investigation and family doubts about suicide, the case remains unsolved more than a century later.
