• New fiber optic install causes a stir in town (mtayrnews.com) — Mount Ayr residents are raising concerns about tall white and orange marker poles Kinetic by Windstream is installing in yards as part of a new fiber optic system. While most welcome faster internet, they dislike the visual impact and are asking city officials what can be done. The city administrator is awaiting legal guidance on whether Mount Ayr can limit or change how these markers are used.
   

• Four Raiders named All-District (mtayrnews.com) — Four Mount Ayr High School Raiders baseball players have earned spots on the Class 1A Southwest All-District teams, highlighting a strong 13–8 season and a run to the district final. Drew Graham and Adler Reed made first team, while Rowan Sackett and Hayes Stogdill landed on the second team after standout performances at the plate and on the mound.
