• Lost court case will force taxing entities to refund $81,710 (nhtrib.com) — New Hampton Community Schools and other local taxing bodies must refund more than $81,000 after an Iowa Supreme Court ruling found Growmark’s propane tanks at its New Hampton terminal were improperly taxed. The district alone owes about $41,000, forcing officials to absorb the hit in this year’s budget while county funds and smaller entities like townships and the extension council also scramble to cover repayments.
