• Greater Iowa City, North Liberty assist local businesses with new grant program (corridorbusiness.com) — North Liberty is offering targeted economic development grants of up to $10,000 to help small businesses like Royal Family Chiropractic and Gani Barbershop buy and renovate local storefronts. The joint program with Greater Iowa City, Inc. plans to support 10 businesses with $85,000 total, plus additional resources from Iowa City’s MERGE Business Resource Center. More grantees will be announced as the program continues. 
• UI Health Care Medical Center ranked tops in Iowa by US News (1630kcjj.com) — North Liberty residents can take pride that UI Health Care’s combined university and North Liberty campuses helped secure the system’s No. 1 hospital ranking in Iowa from U.S. News & World Report. The health system also earned national recognition in several adult specialties and top statewide marks for cancer and orthopedic care, reinforcing access to highly rated services close to home.
• ‘You just never know when it's going to happen and we just want to be ready' (soloneconomist.com) — North Liberty firefighters joined neighboring departments in Solon last weekend for intensive, free grain bin rescue training, sharpening skills for a type of emergency that’s rising across Iowa. Using ropes, harnesses and specialized panels, crews practiced safely reaching and freeing trapped farmers, with costs covered by state-supported training grants so rural volunteer departments can participate together.
