• Second Explosion at Kent Nutrition Group in Sheldon, Iowa: No Injuries, Cooler Damaged (indexbox.io) — A second explosion in ten days at the Kent Nutrition Group facility in Sheldon caused damage to a cooler and product but, importantly for local residents, no injuries. Firefighters from Sheldon spent hours opening the cooler and removing material to extinguish hidden hotspots, and investigators are still working to determine what caused the blast and fire. 
• Fundraiser established for NW Iowa couple following house fire (ktiv.com) — Sheldon firefighters were among several area departments who helped battle a serious house fire in Hospers that left one resident hospitalized and now in intensive care. A GiveSendGo fundraiser is raising money to support the Burd family’s recovery, while investigators continue looking into the cause of the blaze that drew crews from multiple Sioux County communities.
