• Spirit Lake celebrates Hometown Heroes on Wednesday night (kcau9.com) — Families in Spirit Lake turned out Wednesday evening for the Hometown Heroes event at Spirit Lake Elementary, organized by the local Chamber of Commerce. Kids met police, firefighters, linemen, and city workers, explored vehicles, played games at business booths, and grabbed food from trucks during the two-hour community celebration.
   

• Victim Identified in Fatal West Lake Okoboji Boating Accident (northwestiowanow.com) — A man from Sioux Falls has been identified as the victim of Saturday’s fatal boat collision on West Lake Okoboji, an incident that also involved a Spirit Lake resident operating the other vessel. The victim was taken to Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake, where he was pronounced dead, while five minors’ conditions remain undisclosed as the investigation continues.
   

• Boji Clean Water Jam brings music, experts and water quality discussions to northwest Iowa (ktiv.com) — Spirit Lake will host Saturday’s Boji Clean Water Jam sessions at the Maser Monarch Lodge, where experts will dig into local water quality challenges and solutions. The weekend event also includes a free film screening in Milford and a concert at Preservation Plaza, all framed as a nonpartisan way to learn and ask questions about Iowa’s water.
