• Louisa supervisors lean toward jail demolition (mississippivalleypublishing.com) — County supervisors are leaning toward demolishing the nearly 90-year-old former Louisa County Jail in Wapello, despite a resident’s plea to preserve it. The board also approved new buried fiber lines, detailed upcoming County Road H22 and Highway 61 closures, and adopted a zoning change allowing accessory dwellings, all in a newly reduced twice-monthly meeting schedule. 
• Louisa County Man Arrested on Felony Theft and Drug Charges (kciiradio.com) — A Louisa County man is facing multiple felony theft, firearm, and drug-related charges, with a preliminary hearing set for May 18 at the Louisa County Courthouse in Wapello. Investigators say a search at a rural Muscatine address recovered a firearm, methamphetamine, marijuana, and other evidence tied to a stolen UTV case. The suspect remains in the Louisa County Jail on a $25,000 cash-only bond.
• Raven Soccer Rolls Over Indians; Hats Off to Sambrano (kciiradio.com) — Wapello’s soccer team took a tough 9-0 road loss to Hillcrest Academy in Kalona, remaining winless through ten matches. Hillcrest dominated shots and scoring, with six different Ravens finding the net and their keeper posting a clean sheet. Despite the lopsided result, the game gave many players minutes and highlighted strong passing and teamwork on the Hillcrest side.
