• South Winn boys fall short against 3A Go-Hawks (communitynewspapergroup.com) — South Winn’s boys golf team traveled to Waverly Municipal Golf Course, where Class 3A Waverly-Shell Rock edged them by 10 strokes on a firm, fast local layout. Several Warriors still posted solid rounds as their coach praised learning on Waverly’s challenging course. 
• Main Street Iowa celebrates 40 Years, honors communities and leaders award-winning projects, volunteers and downtown initiatives recognized across the state (communitynewspapergroup.com) — Waverly’s downtown just hit a major milestone, earning Main Street Iowa’s $50 million private investment benchmark and special recognition at the program’s 40th anniversary awards. Mayor Kristin Happel and local Main Street leaders represented the community as Iowa officials celebrated decades of revitalization work across downtowns statewide.
• County Supervisors certify Sumner election, hear engineer updates (communitynewspapergroup.com) — Bremer County supervisors approved tax abatements on small parcels, including two owned by the City of Waverly along the Highway 218 corridor toward Janesville, and heard updates on nearby road projects that could affect local drivers. They also advanced resurfacing work on key county roads, considered speed limit changes near residential areas, and certified a low-turnout special election in Sumner.
