Colleagues praise his initiative in researching supplies, reorganizing stockrooms, and anticipating changing needs so nurses can focus on patient care. The annual award honors non-nursing staff who go above and beyond for WHC’s nursing teams. 
• 2026 Klea Shipman Scholarship recipients (communitynewspapergroup.com) — Trinity United Methodist Church in Waverly has awarded its 2026 Klea Shipman Scholarships to five area graduates, including two from Waverly-Shell Rock. Funded by a long-standing endowment honoring educator Klea Shipman, the program has now provided 156 scholarships totaling nearly $48,000 to Bremer County students over 22 years.
• ICGA Applauds Newly Signed Laws Strengthening Iowa Agriculture (farms.com) — A Waverly farmer who leads the Iowa Corn Growers Association is applauding two new state laws he says will directly help Iowa farm families. One measure removes state excise tax on high-ethanol fuel used on farms, while the Iowa Farm Act aims to streamline regulations and strengthen the state’s ag economy for the long term.
