• Johnson County man detained by ICE and deported (kansascity.com) — A longtime De Soto resident known for biking around town collecting cans and feeding stray cats was detained by ICE at the local Casey’s gas station and has now been sent to Mexico. His lawyer says he unknowingly signed voluntary departure papers while held in Leavenworth, and neighbors in De Soto helped pay for his travel and describe the town as feeling “broken” without him.
