One suspect is from Emporia, and formal charges are still pending as authorities process the large haul.

Third time a charm for Jones after finding KVOE Hide and Seek medallion (kvoe.com) — An Emporia-area favorite, the KVOE Hide and Seek contest, wrapped up when Bryan Jones found the medallion near the Cottonwood River at Peter Pan Park’s south edge. Jones, now a three-time winner, beat roughly 30 searchers and collected more than $3,400 in cash and prizes from local sponsors.
