• Three Area Cities to Share in Airport, Energy Grid Improvement Projects - Ad Astra Radio (adastraradio.com) — Ottawa is set to receive more than $615,000 in combined federal and state support to construct a new airport taxiway, with only a small local contribution required. The funding comes through the Build Kansas Fund and federal infrastructure grants aimed at improving airports and energy grids statewide. Nearby Bronson and Savonburg also secured money for power grid upgrades.
   

• Hail, rain, winds forecast Saturday for eastern Kansas (cjonline.com) — Ottawa is included in an enhanced risk zone for severe storms today, with forecasters warning of large hail, damaging winds, heavy rain, and even a possible tornado or two. The National Weather Service says confidence is medium but urges eastern Kansas residents to stay alert this afternoon and evening as the front’s exact track remains uncertain.
