• Ottawa officer is home and resting after being shot in Friday standoff, officials said (kctv5.com) — An Ottawa police officer wounded while serving an arrest warrant Friday evening is now back home and recovering after treatment at a Kansas City-area hospital. Authorities say he was shot by a homicide suspect during a standoff at a multi-unit residence near 5th and Locust in Ottawa, where the suspect was later found dead. State investigators continue to review what happened.

• Track and Field Earns Multiple All-KCAC Honors at Conference Championships; Women 5th, Men 6th (ottawabraves.com) — Ottawa University’s track and field teams just wrapped up a strong showing at the KCAC Championships, with the women finishing fifth and the men sixth while racking up multiple All-KCAC honors and school records. Standout sprints, hurdles, relays, and jumps powered the Braves, who now advance to the NAIA National Championships later this month in Asheville, North Carolina.
