Dirty dishes, live roaches among violations in latest KC-area restaurant inspections (kansascity.com) — Several Overland Park restaurants, including Coach's Bar & Grill, Don Chuy's, Acapulco Paradise, and 810 Entertainment, were cited for multiple critical or priority food safety violations in recent inspections. Issues ranged from improper food storage temperatures to insect activity and poor labeling. Follow-up inspections are scheduled or pending, so diners may want to check recent reports before visiting. 
2. Woman dead, several others hospitalized after crash on I-435 in Overland Park (fox4kc.com) — A woman died and several people were hospitalized after a four-car crash Friday night on westbound I-435 near the U.S. 69 interchange in Overland Park. Police say a vehicle attempting to exit struck an impact attenuator, triggering the multi-vehicle collision. Overland Park's Traffic Unit is investigating while injured occupants continue receiving medical evaluation.
3. KC's Healthy Medical Development Pipeline (kansascitymag.com) — Major hospital expansions are reshaping care options across the metro, including a $150 million-plus renovation of Children's Mercy Kansas on 110th Street and a two-phase expansion at Overland Park Regional Medical Center. Overland Park residents can expect more surgical capacity, neonatal improvements, and better emergency access as these multi-year projects finish between 2027 and 2030.
4. Massive KC entertainment center closes after 13 years. 'So many memories' (kansascity.com) — A new Slick City Action Park has opened in a former JoAnn's Fabrics building at 11401 Metcalf Ave. in Overland Park, adding another family fun option close to home. After 10 years, Kansas City restaurant closes location amid Royals stadium plans (kansascity.com) — Unforked is closing its Crown Center restaurant, but its Overland Park and Westwood locations will stay open, so local fans can still get their burgers and tacos nearby.
