📰 News we're reading

• President Donald Trump urges Kansans to get out and vote in midterm elections (kshb.com) — President Trump spent more than 90 minutes in Park City urging Kansans to turn out for November’s midterm elections and reelect Sen. Roger Marshall in what analysts call a toss-up race. Speaking at a packed rally, he touted tax and border policies, announced diesel relief for farmers, and repeatedly framed Park City supporters as crucial to Republicans’ statewide chances.

• Former race car driver Danica Patrick is surprise guest at Trump rally in Kansas (kansascity.com) — A packed Trump midterm rally at Heartland Credit Union Arena in Park City got an extra dose of star power when former NASCAR driver Danica Patrick flew in on Air Force One and was introduced from the stage. Patrick, who has backed Trump since 2024, shared behind-the-scenes photos from the flight and arena but did not address the crowd, as the event focused on boosting Sen. Roger Marshall.

• Trump rally threats: Kansas man charged after assassination threat claims "already mapped roofs" (ktvu.com) — Federal prosecutors say a Kansas man was arrested after allegedly posting online threats to assassinate Donald Trump ahead of the president’s Monday rally near Wichita, held in Park City. Authorities say the suspect claimed to have mapped rooftop locations before the Park City event, and he now remains in custody pending a detention hearing.
