• Deep Fission taps new partner for Parsons nuclear reactor (koamnewsnow.com) — A new partnership will move forward construction of Deep Fission’s test nuclear reactor at Parsons’ Great Plains Industrial Park, a project expected to create about 200 local jobs as operations grow. The underground reactor design aims to reduce above-ground structures and, if successful here, could become a national model for advanced nuclear energy installations. 
• Wichita addiction recovery provider says $4 million grant is ‘major step' (ksn.com) — Labette County Medical Center in Parsons is set to receive more than $1.38 million from a new state Rural Health Transformation grant, aimed at expanding behavioral and mental health services. The funding is part of a larger $4 million-plus award to Wichita-based Recovery Unlimited and other Kansas providers, intended to ease access barriers like transportation and workforce shortages for rural patients.
