Event Details
This is the second session in the series, and although the first session, Bridge Basics, is not a pre-requisite, it is recommended for the beginning. Bridge Strategies will focus on bidding and playing beyond the basics. Students signing up for this session should already be able to play bridge according to the rules (what the previous class teaches). You will learn how to use the bidding process to communicate with your partner, so that you arrive at the best level for the hand you are playing. You’ll be introduced to scoring, and you’ll be able to decide whether you should try to win the bid or let the opponents win the bid and play defense on any particular hand. And you will begin to understand some of the winning strategies for the play of the cards so as to get the best result. By the end of this session, you should not only be able to play socially but hold your own in the scoring.
