• Florence City Council rejects QuikTrip development off Burlington Pike (linknky.com) — Florence City Council has unanimously rejected a proposed QuikTrip gas station and convenience store at 6808 Burlington Pike, citing conflicts with the Boone County Comprehensive Plan and unresolved traffic concerns. With the site near busy destinations and pedestrian activity important to many Boone County and Burlington-area residents, officials said unanswered questions about congestion and safety were too significant to move the project forward.
