UK Campus Turns Blue To Celebrate National Championships

Various buildings around campus will be lit with blue lights this week to honor the rifle and women's volleyball teams.

The University of Kentucky will celebrate the national championships of two UK Athletics programs by turning the campus blue this week.

Various buildings around campus will be lit with blue lights to honor the UK women’s volleyball NCAA championship win this past weekend, and UK rifle’s championship win last month.

This marks the first time that UK’s storied athletics program has won two national championships in a single year.

Below are the UK buildings that will go blue:

  • Haggin/K-Lair
  • The 90
  • Chellgren Hall

  • Memorial Hall

  • Jacobs Science Building
  • University Flats
  • Parking Structure #5
  • Gatton Student Center
  • Rosenberg College of Law Building

The women’s volleyball team took home the national championship Saturday night in Omaha, Nebraska. It was UK’s first national championship in volleyball as well as the first for the Southeastern Conference.
