The University of Kentucky Women’s Forum seeks nominees for the 2021 Sarah Bennett Holmes award. Two new awards were added this year and the nomination process now includes all individuals, regardless of gender identification.
The Sarah Bennett Holmes Awards recognize one full-time UK faculty member, one full-time UK staff member, one UK team comprising full-time faculty and/or staff, and one full-time UK graduate student for their contributions to issues that affect women at the university and across the Commonwealth. These awards bring recognition for efforts that would otherwise go unnoticed through typical channels. All award winners will receive a plaque and recognition at the annual Sarah Bennett Holmes Awards event. In addition, the faculty, staff and graduate student award winners will each receive a monetary reward of $1,000 each.

Widowed at a young age, Holmes raised four children while completing her own education. She then began a successful career at UK where she inspired young women to persevere in the face of hardship and pursue their career goals.
