Quick action saves Madisonville dam from muskrat damage, causing sinkhole (spectrumnews1.com) — A recent muskrat burrow caused a sinkhole and minor water loss at Madisonville’s City Park Lake South, but quick action by city crews kept the dam safe and neighbors out of danger. The lake will stay lowered for several weeks while engineers repair the damaged section and work with the Kentucky Division of Dam Safety. Trapping crews are relocating the muskrats so the park can keep balancing wildlife and recreation.

The driver faces numerous charges, while another escapee was returned to the Christian County Detention Center as the investigation continues.

Jacquelyn Hickman, 61, of Hopkinsville (wkdzradio.com) — A woman born in Madisonville in 1964, Jacquelyn ā€œJackieā€ Hickman, is being remembered for her decades of service in Christian County schools and her deep involvement at Princeton Street Baptist Church. Family and friends can attend visitation and funeral services Saturday, April 18, at the church in Crofton, with burial to follow at Foster Gardens Cemetery.
