Judge imposes 8-year sentence on Lockhart in elderly theft case (themurraysentinel.org) — A Murray woman has been ordered to serve eight years in prison after a Calloway Circuit judge ruled she failed to meet strict restitution deadlines in a large elder-theft case. The court focused on whether substantial promised repayments, including proceeds from a Murray-area home sale, were made on time, and left the door open to consider shock probation only if a major initial installment is fully paid.
   

2. Murray woman charged with attempted murder after stabbing at Goodwill - KBSI FOX23 News Cape Girardeau News (kbsi23.com) — Police say a woman from Murray faces attempted murder and assault charges after two people were injured, one seriously, in a stabbing and related assault at the local Goodwill store Tuesday afternoon. One victim was flown to a regional hospital, and several Murray and Calloway County emergency agencies assisted at the scene. Authorities emphasize that the suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
   

3. Patricia May Rose Houser (marshallcountydaily.com) — Murray is home to one of the daughters of Patricia May Rose Houser, who passed away April 19 after a short stay at the Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center. Remembered for her work in Massachusetts and Kentucky restaurants and her love of water, coffee, and family, she leaves behind her husband, four daughters, stepchildren, many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
   

4. Kentucky State Police Post 1 Investigates Fatal Collision in Marshall County (marshallcountydaily.com) — A 32-year-old Murray man was killed Friday morning in a rear-end collision with a tractor-trailer on US 641 South in Marshall County, according to Kentucky State Police. Troopers say the northbound car failed to slow as the truck turned into a business, and the driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation into the cause of the crash is still ongoing.
   

5. Renth Racks Up 12 Strikeouts in Lady Storm's Win Over McLean County (yoursportsedge.com) — Murray softball fans can catch the Lady Tigers hosting Hopkins County Central this Thursday, April 23, at 6 p.m. at Murray High School. Hopkins Central comes in riding a three-game win streak behind pitcher Reese Renth’s 12-strikeout performance and strong offensive support in their latest 8-2 victory over McLean County.
