• Brighton Properties breaks ground for new 12-unit residential development in Newport (nkytribune.com) — A new 12-unit affordable housing development called June Gardens is breaking ground in Newport, adding one-, two-, and three-bedroom units on and near Ann Street. Run by Brighton Properties and Brighton Center, the project will pair income-aligned housing with rental assistance, coaching, and wraparound services. Local leaders say it addresses documented housing shortages and supports long-term family stability.

• FC Cincinnati to build mini soccer pitch in Newport (linknky.com) — A new mini soccer pitch is coming to Bernadette Watkins Park in West Newport as early as late July, built and programmed in partnership with FC Cincinnati. City leaders plan youth clinics, school involvement, and future leagues, giving local kids a safe, nearby place to play. Groundbreaking is targeted for early June, with construction expected to take about 30 days.
