Hurricane Harvey: Trump Signs Disaster Declaration For Louisiana

The move authorizes FEMA to coordinate all disaster relief efforts.

Help is on the way for Louisiana. President Trump signed an emergency declaration Monday to get aid to the state as it recovers from the early days of Hurricane Harvey.

The order provides federal aid to supplement state, tribal and local response efforts. It authorizes the Federal Emergency Management Agency to coordinate all disaster relief efforts.

"This action will help alleviate the hardship and suffering that the emergency has inflicted on the local population, and provide appropriate assistance for required emergency measures," the White House said in a statement.
