2. Residents want Alexandria street racing handled, but who's responsible? (thetowntalk.com) ā Neighbors in Alexandriaās Samtown Woodside area are demanding action on long-running street racing along Iā49 between Sugarhouse Road and Broadway Avenue after a teen spectator was killed and another injured. City officials say the interstate is a state responsibility, while residents argue the city still controls nearby Eddie Williams Avenue and must help find concrete solutions before summer puts more kids outside.

3. Remembering James Edwin 'Big Dog' Frazier I (rapidesparishjournal.com) ā Family and friends in Alexandria are preparing to honor James Edwin āBig Dogā Frazier I with services this Saturday at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church on 16th Street, followed by burial on Eddie Williams Avenue. The longtime Bolton High graduate, Air Force veteran, and Rapides Parish lieutenant is remembered for his service, humor, and deep devotion to youth and family.

Kaylee's Cat Corner - Stray dogs increasing as parishes lack animal control (kalb.com) ā Stray dogs are becoming a serious safety concern in Alexandria, especially on the North side and along Bolton Avenue, where residents report packs roaming and near-attacks. Animal advocates say half of Louisiana parishes lack basic animal control, but point to low-cost partnerships like those in Winn and Grant parishes as models Alexandria-area leaders and residents could push for.
