Event Details

6101 Johnston St, Lafayette, LA, 70503

The public is invited to meet up with authors, writers, and hopefuls.

The Writer’s Guild of Acadiana is a non-profit corporation organized in 1986 and operates to provide support and encouragement to its members:

  • Development of artistic and technical literary skills
  • Stimulating interest and appreciation for the art of writing
  • Encouraging free exchange among those engaged in literary endeavors
  • Disseminate information concerning activities in the field of writing.
  • Sign up for our monthly newsletter, “La Plume,” which will be emailed. It contains valuable information about tips on writing, upcoming events, workshops, and WGA news.

Meetings are open to the public, and typically held at the South Regional Branch of the Library, 6101 Johnston, Laf, LA.  Our agenda usually features a guest speaker one month and a member reading program the next month. We start at 6 p.m. and usually end around 7:30 p.m.

Guests are encouraged. Find a seat, relax, and prepare for an interesting and motivational night. Our monthly speakers come in various categories: published authors, illustrators, poets, historians, children’s authors, motivational speakers, travel writers, bloggers, writers of memoirs, and more.

We are looking forward to meeting you! Please bring a friend and help us spread the news.
