LSU Tiger Mike VII Officially Takes Over As New Mascot
Mike arrived in Baton Rouge last week from a rescue in Florida. The university said he took over Monday, the first day of fall semester.

BATON ROUGE, LA — Louisiana State University officially is officially under the reign of Mike VII, an 11-month-old tiger who will rule from a recently renovated enclosure next to Tiger Stadium.
Mike arrived in Baton Rouge last week from a rescue facility in Okeechobee, Florida. The university said in a statement the tiger took over on Monday, the first day of the fall semester. He was quarantined for several days so campus veterinarians could observe Mike in his new home.
Mike replaces a tiger that died in October following months of treatment for a rare form of cancer.
