Republic Services Temporarily Suspends Garbage Collection In Baton Rouge
Thursday garbage pickup will resume on Monday, August 31, 2020, and out-of-cart debris will be picked up as scheduled on September 3, 2020.

BATON ROUGE, La. – August 26, 2020 – The Department of Environmental Services announced Wednesday all garbage and commercial collection will be suspended on Thursday, August 27, 2020, due to the continued threat of Hurricane Laura.

Thursday garbage pickup will resume on Monday, August 31, 2020, and out-of-cart debris will be picked up as scheduled on September 3, 2020.
Please place garbage bins inside the home, or as close to the home as possible to prevent damage from potential high wind speeds.

Regular garbage and commercial collection will resume Friday, August 28, 2020, weather permitting. Recyclable collections will remain suspended for the remainder of the week to allow Republic Services to focus resources on garbage and out-of-cart debris collections.
The North Landfill will be closed on Thursday, August 27, and will resume operation on Friday, weather permitting.
