• Broussard Charter Academy officially set to open in 2027 (bylocalnews.com) — Broussard families will get a new K–8 option when Broussard Charter Academy opens on St. Nazaire Road in August 2027, near the Broussard Sports Complex. The CSUSA-managed school plans to serve about 900 students from Broussard and beyond, following state approval and strong backing from city leaders and the Lafayette Charter Foundation. 
• New Broussard Ladder Truck Dedicated to Legacy of Firefighter Alex Bourque (bylocalnews.com) — Broussard’s fire department has dedicated its new Ladder Truck 23 to the memory of firefighter Alex J. Bourque, who served both Broussard and Lafayette before dying of bone cancer in 2022. Family, firefighters, and community members joined a traditional push-in ceremony featuring custom tributes on the truck that will keep his legacy visible on every local call.
