• 41 smaller earthquakes detected in northwest Louisiana during past 2 months by new equipment (nola.com) — New USGS earthquake monitors show Coushatta and nearby areas are much more seismically active than previously thought, with 41 small quakes recorded in northwest Louisiana since the March 5 magnitude 4.9 near town. Most recent tremors have been minor, but scientists are closely studying whether oil and gas wastewater injection is contributing, and say Coushatta remains one of the region’s most active spots.
