• Conscious Pig's Throat Cut Twice After Being Shot Four Times at St. Landry Parish Slaughterhouse; PETA Seeks Criminal Probe (peta.org) — A federal report describes a pig allegedly remaining conscious while repeatedly shot and having its throat cut twice at a slaughterhouse just outside Eunice, prompting PETA to seek a criminal investigation by the St. Landry Parish district attorney.
