• The Navy is buying 30 medium drone ships at about $40 million each, including 10 of Saronic's 180-foot Marauders (newsbreak.com) — Major Navy contracts will bring production of new unmanned Navy vessels to shipyards in Franklin, Loreauville, and Houma, with work starting immediately and deliveries expected by late 2027. For Franklin residents, that could mean more shipyard jobs, industrial activity, and long-term investment tied to the growing autonomous ship program.
