Police Chiefs Faked Robberies in Visa Scheme (newser.com) — Glenmora residents are learning that federal prosecutors have indicted current and former local law enforcement leaders in a long-running scheme that allegedly fabricated armed-robbery reports to help noncitizens seek U visas. Officials from Glenmora, Oakdale, and Forest Hill are accused of filing false crime reports over nearly a decade, with each supposed victim allegedly generating thousands of dollars, and several defendants now facing potential lengthy prison terms if convicted.
