• Kaplan head football coach resigns on Thursday (vermiliontoday.com) — Kaplan High School’s head football coach John Thompson has resigned just before his second season, leaving the Pirates searching for a new leader by the end of May. The 2027 Kaplan senior class will now play under a fourth head coach in four years, continuing a turbulent stretch for the school’s football program.
