• Free meals available this summer for kids across Calcasieu Parish (kplctv.com) — Families in Lake Charles and across Calcasieu Parish can get free hot breakfasts and lunches for kids 18 and under at more than 15 sites on weekdays through July 24, 2026. Funded mostly by USDA and the Police Jury, the program also offers weekend food bags from United Way, with meals served on-site, first-come, first-served, no registration required.
