Here are the top stories today in New Orleans:

  1. An 8-year-old boy was tragically shot and killed in Hoffman Triangle on Wednesday. It is currently unclear what the circumstances are that lead to the young boy being shot, but a few were detained at the scene for questioning. The boy, Neon Arnold, was taken to the hospital after sustaining a gunshot wound on 2nd street at 11:05 am where he later succumbed to his injuries and passed away. NOPD is continuing to investigate the incident. (WDSU New Orleans)
  2. Two 13-year-olds have been arrested for the three bomb threats that have plagued Kenner Discovery school this past month. The two kids allegedly coordinated the threats from separate states and were charged with communicating false information about a planned bomb threat and false communication with the intent to cause an emergency response. (WDSU New Orleans)
  3. A woman was shot on Chef Menteur Highway on Tuesday night. Around 7 pm, at the intersection of Chef Menteur Highway and Dale Street, an unidentified woman sustained a gunshot wound and was then taken to the hospital for treatment.
