Here are the top stories in New Orleans today:
- One victim was wounded on Monday evening in a shooting on Chef Menteur Highway. Just after 5:30 p.m., police arrived on scene to find a man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was later taken to the hospital for treatment by EMS. (WGNO New Orleans)
- A 15-year-old girl was tragically killed in a negligent homicide after sleeping over at a friend's house in Little Woods on Saturday. The girl, Kennedi Belton, was a freshman at Warren Easton High and died at the scene after being shot. A 19-year-old suspect has been arrested. (WWLTV.com)
- Four teens who face one count of second-degree murder in the carjacking death of a 73-year-old woman, Linda Frickey, in March of 2022, have been denied the request of separate trials. All say they are not guilty, and the trial is set to begin on April 3. (WDSU New Orleans)
