Here are the top stories in New Orleans today:
- Monday night saw three separate shootings transpire across the city. In the first incident, a man was shot and killed on I-10 around 9 p.m. Then just an hour later, another man sustained multiple gunshot wound injuries on Isidore Street and was taken to the hospital for treatment. The final shooting occurred just before 1 a.m. when a woman was shot at the intersection of Cherry Street and Airline Highway. (WDSU New Orleans)
- New Orleans will be hosting the 71st Miss Universe competition this January! The event will be held at the New Orleans Earnest N. Morial Convention Center. Mayor LaToya Cantrell released a statement announcing the competition saying NOLA's decision to host the event will demonstrate its world class skills and hospitality. (WDSU New Orleans)
- New Orleans rapper Mystikal, also known as, Michael Tyler, plead not guilty to charges of raping and choking a woman in his home in July. His attorneys claim the accusation is only motivated by money. He faces life in prison if convicted. (BRProud.com)

- A man accused of killing a NOPD officer in 2017 begins trial on Friday. Darren Bridges allegedly shot Officer Marcus McNeil while McNeil was trying to arrest and detain him. (WDSU New Orleans)
