Here are the top five stories in New Orleans today:

  1. Members of the New Orleans City Council have filed a resolution to make prosecuting abortion cases their "lowest priority" to enforce. The resolution will be considered on July 7 and influence the police department, sheriff's office and the DA's approach to investigating abortion. If this resolution passes, abortion investigations will be the lowest priority with the execution of women being forced or coerced into an abortion or medical malpractice. (WDSU New Orleans)
  2. The Mental health crisis center portion of St. Tammany's Safe Haven campus has closed after only nine months due to lack of funding. The crisis center was opened in a effort to provide an alternative location for people experiencing a mental health crisis but it will not continue to serve the community unless the parish is able to step in and cover costs. (NOLA.com)
  3. New Orleans Crimestoppers are reaching out and asking for the public's help identifying suspects of a shooting where a woman was fatally shot this weekend by four suspects on Natchez Street. The suspects were seen earlier breaking into cars in a parking lot. (WDSU New Orleans)
